A threatened species sits at the center of a hard-edged afrofuturist strategy RPG where saving the world rarely means choosing a clean, heroic option. You command the Caretakers, a covert organization attempting to protect the Raun while political factions, poachers, and escalating unrest push every mission toward compromise. Its science-fiction setting blends striking African-inspired technology and fashion with a grim conservation crisis, giving the campaign a personality far removed from standard military strategy. The tone is serious and human, but moments of warmth—including raising an endearing baby Raun—keep the conflict from becoming relentlessly bleak.

Most of your time goes into recruiting specialists, forming teams, equipping them, and deploying up to nine squads across a growing global map. Missions combine real-time command with pause for planning, then shift into tactical turn-based encounters where positioning, class abilities, negotiation, and restraint matter as much as raw damage. A Caretaker can intimidate, persuade, capture, or fight opponents, and the aftermath affects public opinion, alliances, available resources, and the wider campaign. Back at headquarters, you train recruits across more than 30 roles, research field tools and major technologies, manage funding, and decide which crises deserve attention when you cannot answer every call.

Its strongest idea is that conservation becomes a strategic and moral problem rather than a simple excuse for combat. Reputation makes aggressive victories potentially costly, while diplomacy can preserve support but leave dangerous enemies active; difficult decisions carry forward instead of disappearing after a mission screen. The large roster encourages experimentation with personalities, traits, weaknesses, and squad combinations, while the headquarters cast gives the wider struggle narrative weight.
