Gun smoke, occult horror, and the harsh code of the frontier collide in a fast-moving roguelite set in a nightmare version of 1888 Wyoming. You play William Mason, a dead gunslinger voiced with gravelly authority by Ron Perlman, who wakes in Purgatory with little memory beyond a mysterious figure dressed in black. Every descent moves through a shifting afterlife shaped by the fears and beliefs of the souls trapped there, where witches, wendigos, and damned outlaws turn the Old West into something far more sinister. The mood is relentlessly bleak, but its comic-book visuals and hard-edged narration give the supernatural violence a stylish, pulpy appeal.

Combat combines twin-stick shooting with a cover system that demands more thought than simply circling enemies. Mason slides between waist-high obstacles, blind-fires under pressure, dodges incoming shots, and uses lanterns or environmental light to expose threats lurking in the darkness.
