WiZmans World Re;Try

Remastered 1.58 GB 14.7K views

Game Overview

A sealed city, fractured memories, and monster-filled ruins give WiZmans World Re;Try the feel of a compact dungeon RPG with an unusually strange heart. You play a wizard investigating Wizarest, a place isolated from the wider world where its residents and history seem swallowed by a lingering mystery. The tone balances colorful, fairy-tale character designs with a genuinely uneasy sense of danger, as every trip underground exposes tougher creatures and more pieces of the city’s troubled past.

Dungeon expeditions revolve around turn-based battles, party management, and the constant search for better material to strengthen your three homunculi companions. These small fairy-like allies change through Anima Fusion, a system that lets them absorb defeated enemies and borrow their attributes, abilities, and even visual traits; building a useful team means deciding which monsters are worth incorporating rather than simply grinding levels. Battles use a visible action timeline, status conditions, elemental weaknesses, and chain attacks, so success comes from planning turns instead of blindly selecting the strongest move. Water counters fire, fire beats wind, wind overcomes earth, and earth defeats water, while smart attack chains boost damage and can trigger helpful combat bonuses.

What separates WiZmans World Re;Try from many retro dungeon crawlers is the flexibility of its fusion system: your party can become a personalized collection of bizarre monster hybrids rather than a fixed cast with predetermined roles. Player choices also shape how the story develops, adding reason to revisit its mysteries and see how different decisions affect the journey. Originally a 2009 Jaleco release, this remaster updates the presentation with cleaner visuals, a revised interface, fresh and rearranged music from soLi, and smoother controller or keyboard support without stripping away its old-school identity. Fans of monster fusion RPGs, tactical turn-based combat, and DS-era dungeon adventures should find plenty to like, though newcomers should expect a deliberately methodical challenge rather than a fast-moving action RPG.
