Game Overview

Cartoon naval combat trades the usual turn-based battlefield for a frantic puzzle shooter built around bobbing boats, collapsing blocks, and absurd weapons. Worms Blast sends its squishy combatants across hostile seas where cannon fire clears coloured puzzle formations, triggers chain reactions, and keeps the waterline from swallowing everyone whole. The tone is pure Team17 mischief: bazookas and dynamite share space with sea monsters, falling anvils, bad weather, and characters that include sheep, elderly ladies, and Superfrog.

Each mission asks you to line up shots from your boat, destroy matching blocks, and react quickly as new hazards and rising water make the board increasingly dangerous. The substantial single-player campaign contains 60 stages that steadily introduce new objectives, environmental complications, special ammo, and clever puzzle setups rather than relying only on raw reflexes. More than 20 weapons, gadgets, and power-ups alter the action, whether you are boosting damage, feeding fish, using laser fire, or manipulating the conditions around the arena. Local multiplayer supports matches against friends or AI across eight modes, including straightforward Deathmatch as well as score-focused Star Collect and survival-oriented Tide Trial challenges.

What makes Worms Blast memorable is its unusual blend of artillery aiming and arcade puzzle management; it feels closer to a chaotic mix of Puzzle Bobble-style board clearing and classic Worms weapon comedy than a conventional strategy sequel. Wind, rain, eclipses, cosmic effects, and shifting tides ensure that even a simple shot can turn into a messy disaster, while the varied cast brings distinct skills to experiment with. Unlockable extras and multiplayer modes give it more longevity than its compact, mission-based format initially suggests. Fans of old-school couch competition, colourful puzzle action, and the irreverent Worms universe find plenty to enjoy, while newcomers should expect a demanding but approachable retro challenge rather than a deep tactical war game.
