Humanity’s future hangs on an absurdly armed planet-ship, a volatile crew, and the questionable wisdom of using people as ammunition. Zet Zillions is a story-led roguelike deckbuilder set across a colorful, strange, and often very funny galaxy, where Foam Gun pilots Baby Violence in search of somewhere safe to call home. Its comic-book presentation and bizarre dialogue keep the mood playful, but the battles ask for real tactical planning when enormous enemies start filling the screen.

Combat revolves around building decks that do far more than deal straightforward damage. Cards can be fused together mid-run to produce new attacks, utilities, and occasionally disastrous non-combos, making experimentation as important as careful calculation. One of the wildest tools is the ability to load crew members onto planets until their population reaches breaking point, turning whole worlds into explosive weapons. Runs move through procedurally arranged space routes packed with fights, abandoned craft to scavenge, portals, oddball encounters, side objectives, and resources—including the apparently vital pineapples—so route choices can shape a build as much as card rewards do.

The fusion mechanic gives Zet Zillions its own identity among deckbuilders: instead of simply upgrading familiar cards, players actively discover an extensive catalogue of pairings and adapt their plans around the results. That creates a lively balance between accessible early runs and the deeper knowledge needed to consistently dismantle colossal foes. The hand-drawn aesthetic, offbeat sci-fi humor, and character-focused story also make the journey feel less sterile than many genre peers.
