A six-film Bond anthology gives the campaign its strongest hook, recasting famous missions from Goldfinger, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, Moonraker, Licence to Kill, Die Another Day, and Skyfall around a Daniel Craig-era 007. The framing story follows Bond as memories of past operations surface during a life-or-death crisis, creating a globetrotting shooter full of collapsing lairs, mountain assaults, space stations, casinos, and villainous schemes. 007 Legends aims for brisk blockbuster spectacle rather than the slower intrigue of the novels, with a tone that shifts between stealthy espionage and loud, unapologetic firefights. It is a curious time capsule: part movie adaptation, part original Bond adventure, and part early-2010s console-style FPS.

Most missions alternate between linear shooting galleries, scripted action sequences, brief investigative sections, and stealth objectives where silencers and gadgets matter more than raw firepower. Bond carries a smartphone-like MI6 device for scanning clues, hacking systems, tracking targets, and opening routes, while gunplay includes cover use, weapon pickups, grenades, and close-range takedowns. Completing missions unlocks upgrades and encourages replaying chapters for better scores, collectibles, and alternate approaches, while MI6 Ops provides shorter standalone challenges built around combat, infiltration, or gadget use. Online competitive modes also exist in the original release, though their usefulness depends on whether a player base and service support remain available.

What separates 007 Legends from most licensed shooters is its willingness to stitch radically different Bond eras into one Craig-flavored continuity. Some levels capture the extravagant charm of the films better than others, and the heavily scripted design can feel dated beside modern shooters, but the changing locations prevent the campaign from becoming visually monotonous. Fans of GoldenEye 007: Reloaded, Call of Duty-style cinematic campaigns, and Bond’s larger-than-life villains get the most from it, especially if they enjoy replaying missions for scores. Newcomers should expect a straightforward, occasionally rough FPS rather than a deep stealth simulation, while longtime 007 followers will appreciate spotting how familiar film moments are reworked.
