Akai Katana Shin

An alternate Taisho-era Japan turns industrial ambition into a war zone of fighter planes, armored ships, tanks, and towering supernatural machines. Akai Katana Shin is a horizontal bullet-hell shooter from Cave, built around dense enemy patterns and the satisfying precision of surviving through gaps that initially seem impossible. Its military-meets-folklore aesthetic gives every stage a distinct identity, while the story adds personal stakes through fractured families and friendships tested by war. Pilots choose a character and battle across scrolling stages, weaving through curtains of bullets while destroying waves of mechanical enemies and screen-filling bosses.
