Meruru’s ambition turns a small border nation into the heart of a cheerful, deadline-driven JRPG where every monster hunt, crafted tool, and completed errand can change the map. As the young princess of Arls, she studies alchemy under the returning Totori while trying to prove that her homeland deserves to grow beyond its rural beginnings. The tone is bright and character-focused, full of playful party banter and colorful fantasy towns, but the three-year calendar gives its relaxed crafting loop a welcome sense of purpose. Rather than saving the world from immediate catastrophe, the goal is to make a struggling kingdom thrive.

Most of the adventure revolves around gathering ingredients in field areas, fighting turn-based battles, and combining materials into weapons, healing items, equipment, and quest tools through the series’ detailed synthesis system. Assigning traits to ingredients lets players tailor creations for stronger attacks, better defenses, or more efficient consumables, so alchemy matters as much as party levels. Requests from citizens and major assignments award development points, which unlock new facilities, expand Arls’ territory, raise its population, and open additional destinations and events. Time advances as Meruru travels, gathers, crafts, and rests, making route planning important without turning every day into a punishing optimization exercise.

Kingdom growth is the standout feature: progress feels visible because new buildings, residents, quests, and regions appear as a direct result of the player’s work. DX includes the extra content associated with the enhanced release, including additional characters and episodes, while retaining English voices for much of the story. Its accessible combat and warm presentation make it a strong entry point for curious newcomers, although players who enjoy mastering item traits and managing a schedule get the most from it.
