Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

A full-scale war stretches from Earth’s orbit to hostile planets, giving this first-person shooter a grander, more cinematic scope than most entries in the series. You command Captain Nick Reyes, a fighter pilot forced into leadership after a devastating attack leaves the United Nations Space Alliance reeling. The enemy Settlement Defense Front is ruthless, the odds are deliberately stacked against you, and the campaign balances familiar military spectacle with the cold isolation and danger of deep space. Infinite Warfare carries a serious tone in its story mode, but it also knows when to trade grim warfare for loud arcade absurdity.

Missions move between infantry firefights, stealthy boarding actions, zero-gravity combat, and aerial sorties in Reyes’ agile Jackal fighter. Rather than locking players into one straight route, the campaign uses a command hub where optional operations can unlock upgrades for weapons, equipment, and the Jackal, letting you tackle targets in a more flexible order. Gunplay remains fast, responsive Call of Duty combat, while futuristic gadgets, wall-running, and boost movement add mobility without turning every encounter into a chaotic arena shooter. Competitive multiplayer builds on that mobility with customizable combat Rigs, distinct payload abilities, scorestreaks, and a broad selection of maps and modes for players who prefer rapid online matches.

The standout attraction is Zombies in Spaceland, a colorful 1980s amusement park overrun by the undead and styled like a supernatural B-movie. Its neon arcade, working rides, eccentric weapons, secrets, and elaborate Easter egg objectives make it a much lighter counterpoint to the campaign, while later zombie maps expand the story into stranger territory. Infinite Warfare is especially appealing to players who enjoy the sci-fi scale of Titanfall 2 or the movement-driven multiplayer of Black Ops III, though its campaign is more focused on spectacle and character drama than open experimentation. Veterans get plenty of familiar Call of Duty rhythm, while newcomers receive three very different ways to play in one package.
