Praxis points let players tailor him toward stealth, social manipulation, hacking, resilience, or direct combat, making each build meaningfully different rather than merely changing damage numbers. Large hub locations reward careful exploration with side quests, alternate routes, computer terminals full of lore, and secrets that can alter available options later. The Director’s Cut also improves boss encounters so stealthy and hacking-focused players have more tactical answers than simply unloading ammunition.

What stands out is how consistently the game respects preparation and improvisation. A locked door, guarded checkpoint, or hostile conversation can become a puzzle solved through information, upgrades, environmental awareness, or brute force, while decisions shape relationships and lead to several endings. Its shooting lacks the speed and polish of a pure modern FPS, and some stealth systems show their age, but the atmosphere, soundtrack, and choice-driven mission design remain exceptional.
