A frantic ritual race turns every dark corridor, abandoned room, and patch of shadow into a possible death trap. DEVOUR is a co-op survival horror game built around stopping demonic cult leaders before their transformations consume the whole group, with each map framing the hunt inside a different cursed location. The mood is loud, ugly, and deliberately stressful: teammates shout over proximity voice chat, lanterns swing through darkness, and a single mistake can leave someone crawling while a monster closes in. It plays less like a slow-burn haunted-house story and more like a desperate escape-room challenge under constant pursuit.

Teams of one to four players search for ritual items, keys, tools, and safe routes through environments packed with locked doors, roaming threats, and jump-scare potential. Each scenario asks players to weaken its possessed antagonist through a specific sequence of actions, such as finding cursed objects and completing a sacrificial ritual, while the enemy becomes faster and more aggressive as progress builds. Players manage limited resources including medkits, batteries, UV tools, and light sources, reviving captured allies whenever the group gets a rare opening. Solo play is available, but the design strongly favors coordinated squads, since split-second rescues and clear callouts often matter more than raw courage.

Its greatest strength is how quickly familiar objectives turn chaotic once the hunt escalates. Randomized item placements, changing enemy behavior, and several distinct maps keep repeated runs from becoming too predictable, while each setting introduces its own monster, layout, and rule variations. DEVOUR does not offer the investigative depth of Phasmophobia or the stealth focus of Outlast, but it delivers a more immediate, arcade-like form of cooperative panic. Horror veterans looking for punishing replayable sessions will get the most from it, although newcomers can still have a great time if they bring patient friends and accept that early failures are part of the ritual.
