A crumbling Welsh manor becomes a claustrophobic trap in this first-person supernatural horror tale, where every locked door and child’s toy suggests something deeply wrong. You play a remorseful mother searching for her estranged daughter, whose disappearance is tied to an old warning about knocking twice on a witch’s door. The mood is more ghost story than action spectacle: tense, grim, and built around the fear of hearing something move nearby when you are alone in the dark. Its connection to the 2017 film gives the story a cinematic foundation, but the game focuses on making you investigate the nightmare firsthand.

Searching the house drives the experience, sending you through ornate rooms, hidden passages, cellars, and increasingly unsettling spaces as you collect clues about the witch’s legend. Nearly every drawer, cupboard, book, tool, and odd household object can be handled, making simple tasks like hunting for a key or inspecting a note feel tactile rather than menu-driven. Puzzles require observation and item use, while hostile encounters favor evasive movement, quick thinking, and using whatever defensive tools the manor provides instead of turning the player into an unstoppable fighter. VR support for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift strengthens the sense of physical presence, especially when reaching into dark corners or opening a door you would rather leave shut.

Environmental interaction is the strongest hook here, as the manor feels like a place designed to be picked apart piece by piece rather than merely walked through. The game mixes familiar haunted-house imagery with a folkloric antagonist, using distorted domestic spaces and sharp audio cues to sustain unease. Its relatively focused length makes it better suited to a concentrated evening of scares than a long-term progression grind, and VR can make the tension considerably more intense. Fans of P.T.-style corridor horror, Layers of Fear, and film-inspired ghost stories should find plenty to enjoy, while newcomers should expect puzzles and atmosphere to matter more than combat mastery.
