Donut County casts you as BK, a prize-obsessed raccoon using a remote-controlled sinkhole to steal the possessions, homes, and eventually the entire lives of the county’s residents. The story unfolds after his scheme backfires, leaving BK and his victims stranded far below the surface, where sarcastic conversations and escalating complaints reveal how the disaster started. Its bright, toy-like presentation and deadpan humor keep the mood playful even while an entire community disappears underground.

Each short chapter drops the hole into a new resident’s yard, shop, or home and asks you to swallow loose objects until it grows large enough to consume bigger targets. Small items do more than fill the hole: collected debris can be combined into playful contraptions, producing soup, multiplying rabbits, setting off fireworks, and creating other solutions to environmental puzzles. Once the hole has enough mass, it can also spit objects back out, letting you launch hazards, break obstacles, or make an already chaotic scene even messier. Controls remain accessible and the challenge stays gentle, with progress driven more by observation and experimentation than punishing precision.

Donut County stands apart through the sheer charm of turning destruction into a relaxed puzzle loop, while every new location finds a fresh variation on the central swallowing mechanic. It shares Katamari Damacy’s escalating joy of consuming increasingly huge objects, but its compact levels, character-focused structure, and carefully staged physics give it a distinct identity. The campaign is short and largely linear, making it a great weekend game rather than an endlessly replayable sandbox, although the humorous dialogue and completion goals reward a second look. Players who want a low-stress indie experience with clever interactions, colorful animation, and a surprisingly memorable cast should find plenty to enjoy here.
