A nightmare of repeated death drives this dark survivor-like action game, where ordinary people awaken in an unnatural wilderness and learn that dying offers no escape. That risk gives the usual auto-attacking survival formula a welcome layer of dread, since leaning too hard on forbidden power makes the character increasingly vulnerable. Its dreamlike forest, recurring deaths, and character-focused escape plot also give the action more atmosphere than a typical score-chasing horde game.
