Endoparasitic is a top-down survival horror game built around a brutally effective idea: your character can only use one arm, so every action—crawling, aiming, firing, reloading, opening doors, and using medicine—demands deliberate mouse input. The setting is all bloodstained corridors, failed experiments, and distant mechanical noise, with a claustrophobic sci-fi mood closer to a medical nightmare than a power fantasy. Saving vital research provides the objective, but staying alive long enough to carry it out is the real challenge.

Movement is deliberately awkward because you drag your wounded body across the floor while separately managing your weapon hand, turning even a short trip through an unexplored room into a calculated risk. Guns must be loaded round by round, so firing wildly can leave you helpless while mutated creatures close in; choosing when to retreat, reload, or spend scarce ammunition matters as much as aiming well. Syringes and experimental treatments temporarily hold back the parasite’s advance, creating constant pressure to scavenge supplies and make progress rather than hide forever. Stealth sequences, environmental puzzles, key-based exploration, and boss encounters break up the combat, while four distinct firearms offer different answers to the game’s hostile creatures.

What makes Endoparasitic memorable is how completely its one-handed interface shapes the horror: inconvenience is not a gimmick, but the source of its tension. The clean, readable overhead presentation contrasts sharply with grotesque enemy designs and the physical vulnerability of its protagonist, making each room feel like a compact tactical problem. Its campaign is focused rather than sprawling, but different difficulty settings and the demands of efficient survival give repeat runs appeal for players chasing cleaner clears. Fans of the resource tension in Resident Evil, the oppressive isolation of Dead Space, or unconventional indie horror should find plenty to admire, though newcomers need patience for its intentionally demanding controls.
