A bullet-riddled alternate take on World War II sends mob enforcer Vinnie Cannoli from the ruins of his old criminal life to Europe’s blood-soaked front lines. Guns, Gore And Cannoli 2 is a side-scrolling run-and-gun shooter with a cartoonishly violent streak, mixing gangsters, Nazi troops, zombies, monsters, and military hardware into one loud 1940s revenge story. Fifteen years after the Thugtown disaster, Vinnie finds old betrayals resurfacing and allies turning hostile. The mood is deliberately tasteless in the best arcade-action sense: grim battlefields and mangled bodies meet rapid-fire wisecracks, slapstick deaths, and pulp-comic swagger.

Combat revolves around pushing through densely packed stages, blasting enemies with pistols, shotguns, machine guns, flamethrowers, rocket launchers, and other period-flavored weapons. Vinnie moves far more freely than a typical old-school shooter hero, with 360-degree aiming, dual wielding, double jumps, dodge rolls, somersaults, kicks, and airborne attacks giving firefights a nimble, aggressive rhythm. Destructible scenery adds useful chaos, letting players detonate cars and barrels, collapse obstacles, or launch enemies through doors and across rooms with explosive firepower. The campaign works solo or in local and online co-op for up to four players, where weapon coverage, revives, and simply surviving the on-screen mayhem become a satisfying team effort.

Hand-drawn visuals are the major attraction, packing trenches, bombed-out streets, submarines, clubs, and military compounds with animated detail, era-specific props, and exaggerated gore effects. Rather than pursuing historical realism, it treats the 1940s as a pulpy playground where ragdoll physics and cinematic set pieces matter more than authenticity. Its campaign continues the original’s story, but the cleaner movement and broader combat options make it approachable even for players who missed the first entry. Fans of Metal Slug, Broforce, or Contra-style co-op shooters find a particularly good fit here, especially if they enjoy a short, replayable action campaign with friends and a gleefully crude sense of humor.
