A fluorescent corporate city becomes a concert stage in this exuberant character-action adventure, where every punch, dodge, platform, and explosion lands on the beat. Chai, a self-proclaimed future rock star, gains a music player fused into his chest during a botched cybernetic procedure and suddenly perceives the whole world as rhythm. That strange accident puts him at odds with Vandelay, a robotics conglomerate eager to label him defective and erase the evidence. The result is loud, colorful, knowingly ridiculous, and far more upbeat than Tango Gameworks’ horror pedigree suggests.

Combat asks players to chain light and heavy attacks in time with the soundtrack, rewarding good rhythm with stronger combos, higher scores, and more satisfying finishers. Button-mashing still works well enough to carry the story, but learning the timing transforms encounters into controlled, stylish brawls closer to Devil May Cry and Bayonetta than a traditional rhythm game. Chai recruits companions who can be summoned during fights or used to solve environmental obstacles, whether that means smashing armored defenses, activating machinery, or reaching inaccessible paths. Linear stages mix arena battles with platforming, collectibles, boss fights, upgrades, training rooms, and optional score-chasing challenges, while difficulty options and rhythm-assist features make the system welcoming to players without perfect musical instincts.

Its greatest strength is how completely everything commits to the pulse: animated scenery bobs along, enemy attacks telegraph musically, cutscenes snap with comic-book energy, and the soundtrack gives each level a distinct personality. The lively cel-shaded presentation and sharp banter keep the campaign buoyant, even when its corporate satire is deliberately broad. Included extra content expands the replay value with outfits, cosmetic items, companion attacks, photo poses, and arcade modes such as the escalating-speed BPM RUSH and the randomized, roguelite-flavored Tower Up challenge. Hi-Fi RUSH suits action veterans hunting for deep combo routes and high ranks, but its forgiving accessibility tools also make it one of the best entry points for anyone curious about rhythm-based combat.
