An abandoned private school becomes a prison of memory in Invisible Fear, a first-person indie horror game built around dread rather than action-hero power fantasies. Its best idea is the camera-based detection system, which recalls the surveillance tension of Five Nights at Freddy’s but places that anxiety inside a freely explored environment. The school setting also works well for players who enjoy grounded locations twisted into unsettling spaces rather than sprawling fantasy worlds.
