Gotham City becomes a bright, brick-built superhero playground when the Joker teams with Lex Luthor and pushes Batman beyond his usual arsenal. LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes mixes light adventure combat, slapstick destruction, and a surprisingly broad DC crossover that brings Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and many more into the fight. The tone stays family-friendly and funny, but the story gives its villains enough presence to make saving Gotham feel like more than a string of collectible hunts. Fully voiced LEGO characters also add more personality and cinematic banter than earlier entries in the series.

Most missions revolve around smashing scenery for studs, fighting waves of goons, solving environmental puzzles, and swapping between heroes whose abilities open different paths. Batman’s suits supply specialized tools, Robin handles hazardous materials and other obstacles, while Superman can fly, use heat vision, and blast objects with super-breath. Between story chapters, Gotham functions as an open hub packed with side objectives, secrets, character tokens, and vehicles ranging from the Batmobile to the Batwing and Batboat. Local drop-in/drop-out co-op supports two players, with dynamic split-screen keeping partners together even when they head in opposite directions across the city.

Its greatest strength is the way it turns DC powers into accessible LEGO puzzle tools rather than complicated combat systems. Flying above Gotham as Superman feels appropriately liberating, while the enormous character roster encourages replaying earlier levels with newly unlocked abilities. Combat is deliberately simple and the camera can occasionally struggle in busy scenes, yet the constant stream of hidden bricks, costumes, and jokes keeps the pace moving. Fans of LEGO Star Wars or LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will find a familiar collectible-driven formula here, while Batman and DC enthusiasts get one of the most cheerful and content-rich takes on the universe.
