With the Justice League missing, the suspiciously spotless Justice Syndicate claims to protect Earth, but their heroic act quickly looks like a hostile takeover. LEGO DC Super-Villains lets players view familiar comic-book locations through the eyes of the people usually smashing them apart, pairing an original villain with Joker, Harley Quinn, Lex Luthor, and a huge cast of allies and enemies. The mood stays playful rather than grim, combining cartoon destruction, superhero spectacle, and the series’ reliably silly humor.

Missions mix light combat, environmental puzzles, platforming, collectible hunting, and elaborate set-piece battles. Your created villain begins with a chosen fighting style and gradually gains powers such as telekinesis, elemental attacks, and gadget-based abilities, making the character feel more involved in the campaign than a standard LEGO avatar. Nearly every obstacle asks for the right character skill, whether that means hacking a terminal, breaking silver objects with explosives, controlling minds, or rebuilding LEGO debris into a useful machine. Story levels funnel the action through cinematic locations, while Gotham City, Metropolis, Smallville, Apokolips, and other DC spaces open up for side activities, races, hidden bricks, and character unlocks. Local split-screen co-op allows a second player to join the mayhem at any time.

The standout feature is the custom villain, who is fully woven into cutscenes and grows from a nameless prisoner into the center of the plot. Voice performances, especially from the major villains, sell the comedy, while the enormous playable roster encourages revisiting areas with new powers. It follows the familiar LEGO formula closely, so veterans know to expect straightforward fights and puzzles rather than demanding action mechanics, but its villain-led story gives that formula a fresher angle. Fans of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, DC cartoons, and accessible couch co-op find plenty to enjoy, while completionists get a dense playground built for repeated exploration.
