Life is Strange: Before the Storm Remastered follows sixteen-year-old Chloe Price three years before the original story, when grief, anger, and a growing sense of alienation define her life. Her unexpected bond with the seemingly perfect Rachel Amber becomes the emotional core, especially after Rachel uncovers a family secret that shatters her carefully maintained world. The tone is melancholic but sincere, balancing rebellious humor, punk energy, and difficult conversations about loss, identity, and trust.

Players guide Chloe through dialogue-heavy scenes, inspect locations for clues and personal details, and make decisions that shape conversations and relationships. Unlike Max in the first Life is Strange, Chloe cannot rewind time, so choices feel more immediate and there is no easy way to test every response. Remastered character models, environments, and animation give the story a cleaner presentation while preserving its painted, indie-drama aesthetic. The game succeeds less through traditional challenge than through strong performances, licensed music, and the uneasy chemistry between Chloe and Rachel; every scene carries the knowledge that their futures are complicated. Branching dialogue provides reasons to revisit key episodes, although the overall story remains focused and cinematic rather than wildly divergent. Fans of narrative adventures such as Telltale’s The Walking Dead, Oxenfree, or the original Life is Strange will find a compelling character study here, while newcomers can use it as an emotionally effective starting point before moving on to Max’s story.
