Its included scenarios span the hedgerows of Normandy and the brutal engagements of Vietnam, giving the core package two sharply different historical flavors. The mood is methodical but never passive: battles can swing quickly when a position collapses, a flanking move succeeds, or a well-timed attack catches an enemy exposed.

Players command squads, half-squads, individual leaders, and specialist teams while managing movement, firepower, morale, cover, and tactical positioning. The impulse-based turn structure keeps both sides involved throughout a battle rather than locking one player into a long wait, creating a brisk back-and-forth rhythm despite the game’s board-game roots.
