A ruined near-future Earth hangs on the decisions of eleven young psychics climbing a terrorist’s impossible tower. Lost Dimension mixes anime melodrama, tense squad management, and tactical RPG battles around a premise that keeps turning the knife: one or more members of your own elite team are traitors. Sho Kasugai leads the assault against the enigmatic villain called The End, whose threat of nuclear annihilation gives the story a grim urgency despite its colorful character designs. Every floor brings harder enemies, fresh revelations, and the uncomfortable possibility that a trusted ally will have to be sacrificed.

Battles play out as turn-based tactical encounters where positioning, movement range, turn order, and psychic abilities matter as much as raw stats. Characters specialize in roles such as close-range bruisers, healers, snipers, and support fighters, while assists and delayed turns let the squad chain attacks or set up stronger plays. Between missions, Sho talks with teammates, strengthens bonds, develops abilities, and uses his telepathic power to search for clues about who may betray the group. Accusations culminate in a vote, and condemned allies are erased from the campaign permanently, forcing you to adapt their equipment and unlocked powers into the surviving roster.

Its standout idea is that the traitor lineup changes between playthroughs, so the mystery cannot simply be solved once with a guide. The investigation system asks players to weigh dialogue, relationship levels, psychic readings, and imperfect evidence, creating genuine paranoia when a useful party member becomes suspicious. Multiple endings also reward careful relationship building and repeated runs, although the tower setting and modest presentation feel more focused than lavish. Fans of Valkyria Chronicles-style anime tactics, Persona-like social links, or party-based RPGs with lasting choices find plenty to enjoy, while newcomers should be ready for a demanding system that punishes careless votes.
