Western Mudos feels like a strange frontier where dusty settlements, eccentric locals, and ruthless outlaws coexist beneath Oddworld’s unmistakably grotesque humor. You play a towering, tight-lipped bounty hunter known only as the Stranger, taking contracts to fund an urgently needed operation while concealing the truth about his condition. What begins as a series of paid captures gradually becomes a much larger, more personal conflict. Stranger’s Wrath HD balances cartoonish creatures and oddball jokes with a surprisingly dramatic story that gives its mysterious lead real weight.

Bounties start at local stores, where townsfolk provide clues and each target occupies a distinct stretch of wilderness, canyon, industrial ruin, or hostile hideout. The central hook is “live ammunition”: instead of conventional guns, Stranger fires living creatures with different functions, using Chippunks as distractions, Bolamites to bind enemies, Stingbees for rapid attacks, and explosive Fuzzles to cause chaos. Combat shifts between third-person movement and first-person shooting, encouraging players to scout routes, ambush foes, and decide whether to knock targets out for a more valuable live capture or simply eliminate the threat.
