Hiding in cupboards, beneath furniture, and in dark corners offers temporary safety, while solo players must manage every puzzle and pursuit without anyone watching their back; co-op groups can split up, share discoveries, or stay together for reassurance.

What makes PANICORE work is the combination of escape-room progression and unpredictable hide-and-seek pressure. Rather than simply sprinting from scripted scares, players are repeatedly forced to choose between making noise to advance, taking a risky shortcut, or waiting silently while danger patrols nearby. The abandoned-location premise gives the game a grounded found-footage flavor, while multiple exits add replay value beyond memorizing a single solution. Fans of Phasmophobia’s cooperative tension, Devour’s frantic teamwork, or Outlast-style helplessness should find plenty to like, especially with friends who can communicate under pressure. Horror veterans may want a more elaborate combat system elsewhere, but newcomers who prefer puzzles and stealth over fighting can quickly understand the stakes.
