Each run sends Toby through procedurally changing mansion floors, where he searches rooms, talks to suspicious characters, solves environmental puzzles, scavenges useful items, and avoids or confronts threats. Death ends the current attempt, but it is not wasted: evidence gathered across runs fills an investigation board, gradually revealing the larger story and opening paths toward different conclusions. Equipment can be selected and improved before heading back inside, allowing you to emphasize survivability, offense, or utility depending on how you approach the mansion. Enemy behavior is not entirely predictable, and learning how individual monsters react is as important as managing resources when a run begins to go wrong.
