Katabase 6 is a hostile industrial maze where every recovered scrap of equipment can become the difference between a clean escape and a brutal defeat. Raw Metal casts you as an isolated scavenger picking through a corporate mining complex on the barren planet Charybdis, where Orpheus Tech’s security forces own the halls and vastly outmatch you in a straight fight. Its mood is tense, grimy, and deliberately dangerous, but the action has an arcade-like swagger once a plan collapses into violence. Rather than simply clearing rooms, you are constantly weighing how much loot is worth risking before attempting extraction.

Most infiltrations begin from a top-down perspective, encouraging you to study patrols, stay out of sight, and use distractions to separate enemies. Taser shots, noise-making tools, makeshift explosives, and five deployable gadgets give you several ways to create openings, while hazards in the facility can turn a guard’s own environment against them. Getting spotted shifts the action into close third-person brawling, where timing, spacing, evasions, environmental awareness, and an adaptable combo system matter more than button-mashing. Guards are tough and armored, so combat feels like a costly gamble, yet a well-executed ambush or aggressive string of attacks can produce better rewards than a flawless stealth run. Between expeditions, you collect and improve more than 50 pieces of equipment, with each item also changing your scavenger’s visible look.

Raw Metal’s strongest idea is its willingness to make stealth and fighting part of the same escalating system instead of treating combat as a fail state. Nine authored stages, along with route variations, tougher enemy types, and changing obstacles, support repeat runs without making the facility feel entirely procedural. Three bosses break up the extraction loop with distinct encounters that demand a more focused grasp of the game’s combat language. Players who enjoy the tension of Metal Gear-style infiltration but want the immediate impact of a demanding beat ’em up will find a lot to like here; newcomers can rely on gadgets and cautious play, while action veterans have ample room to chase cleaner, riskier runs.
