A serene futuristic complex becomes a laboratory for light, logic, and carefully staged frustration in ReThink 5. Viewed from the first person, its clean sci-fi chambers trade action and danger for the satisfying pressure of finding one overlooked connection in a web of colored beams. The mood remains calm rather than oppressive, backed by an upgraded ambient soundtrack and polished presentation, but the puzzles steadily demand sharper observation. Every room presents a self-contained problem, making it easy to play in short sessions while still encouraging that familiar “one more puzzle” urge.

Progress comes from manipulating lasers, redirecting beams, matching colors, activating receivers, and learning how each device affects the others. Players inspect the room, test possible routes for light, and gradually build an understanding of a consistent ruleset that becomes more elaborate as new puzzle components appear. More than 50 chambers provide the main challenge, with a smoother difficulty curve than the previous entry: early solutions teach the language of the systems, while later rooms combine familiar tools in deceptive ways. There is no combat, time pressure, or multiplayer distraction; success relies entirely on spatial awareness, experimentation, and the willingness to abandon an almost-correct plan.

What separates ReThink 5 from many first-person puzzlers is its devotion to laser behavior and color interaction rather than a grab-bag of unrelated mechanics. Rooms look minimal and peaceful, yet their layouts often hide the key angle, sequence, or beam combination in plain sight, rewarding patient players more than quick reflexes. It carries some of the methodical satisfaction of Portal’s environmental puzzles, but without comedy, physics-gun antics, or a narrative-heavy campaign; its closest appeal is to players who enjoy pure logic spaces such as The Talos Principle’s quieter challenge rooms. Puzzle veterans looking for a dense, focused brain-teaser should feel at home, while newcomers can benefit from the more measured ramp-up if they are prepared to rethink their assumptions.
