It uses the familiar liminal-space nightmare of the Backrooms, but approaches it as a survival-focused escape challenge with several possible conclusions. The mood is lonely, oppressive, and deliberately repetitive, making every wrong turn feel like it could lead somewhere worse. Rather than offering a sprawling open world, it concentrates on the tension of navigating hostile, uncanny spaces where safety is never guaranteed.

Players search maze-like rooms for a way forward while managing the dangers that inhabit the environment and learning how each area works. Difficulty settings let newcomers choose a more forgiving route or push experienced horror players toward the harsher “Real” mode, where mistakes carry greater weight. Progress comes from careful observation, exploration, and surviving encounters long enough to uncover an exit or trigger one of the game’s endings.
