Game Overview
A German landing on Britain’s southern coast turns one of World War II’s great “what ifs” into a tense operational wargame. SGS Sealion imagines that Germany has gained the temporary conditions needed to launch Operation Sea Lion in September 1940, but victory remains far from certain. The Luftwaffe holds an advantage, veteran German formations are ready to push inland, and yet the battered RAF, the intact Royal Navy, fortified terrain, and Britain’s shorter supply lines can still wreck the invasion. Its tone is serious, methodical, and relentlessly pressured: autumn weather is coming, and neither side has resources to waste.
Players command Axis or British and Allied land, naval, and air forces across scenarios ranging from quick two-turn clashes to campaigns lasting more than 30 daily turns. Germany must secure beaches, ports, supply routes, and decisive objectives before its fragile Channel crossing collapses, while Britain tries to react quickly, contain bridgeheads, and gamble on naval strikes that could destroy the invasion fleet at enormous cost. Air power matters not simply as background flavor, since control of the skies shapes what both sides can safely move and support. Italian assistance can reinforce the Axis effort later on, while Polish, Canadian, Free French, and British units give the defenders a varied but often uneven order of battle.
The real strength lies in its asymmetric conflict. Britain has defensive terrain, fortifications, naval reach, and interior communications; Germany has stronger ground troops but a navy poorly suited to sustaining a prolonged amphibious campaign. Event cards introduce political, economic, diplomatic, and military complications, ensuring that identical plans do not always produce identical wars. SGS Sealion suits players who enjoy deliberate, historically grounded board-wargame decision-making in the vein of other strategy titles from the SGS line, especially veterans who appreciate supply concerns, shifting priorities, and difficult choices over flashy battlefield spectacle.

How do I fix missing DLL errors for SGS Sealion (v1.7.9)?
After extracting SGS Sealion (v1.7.9), navigate to the _Redist or _CommonRedist folder inside the game directory and install DirectX, Vcredist, and any other dependencies included.
What should I do if the downloaded file is corrupted?
The full archive is 630.47 MB — make sure your download completed fully before extracting. Use 7-Zip to extract the files. If you still see a "file corrupted" error, re-download and try again.
Do I need to run the game as administrator?
Usually, no. Start the game normally from the extracted folder. If you see a permissions or save error, check that the folder is writable and follow the game's documented fix. Only grant administrator access when a trusted game's specific setup requires it.
How do I update my GPU drivers for this game?
The game won't launch — what should I try?
Check that extraction completed and your PC meets the system requirements, including Version 9.0. Note any error message before choosing a fix. If it identifies a missing runtime, install the required DirectX components or Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable from Microsoft.
My antivirus is blocking the game — is it safe?
A warning needs to be investigated; the download source alone cannot confirm that a file is safe. Keep your security software enabled and review the detection details. Do not run or restore a flagged file unless you have verified that it is a false positive. If you are unsure, leave it quarantined.
