Set across colorful zones threatened by Dr. Eggman and his Hard-Boiled Heavies, it follows Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles through a campaign that feels built for players who still remember the Genesis era. Familiar locations return with radically expanded routes and fresh hazards, while entirely new stages give the adventure its own identity. The tone is bright, energetic, and wonderfully arcade-like, backed by a soundtrack that turns every act into a memorable sprint.

Momentum is the real star: players build speed down slopes, ricochet through bumpers, ride moving platforms, and learn when to slow down long enough to spot safer paths. Sonic uses his speedy Drop Dash, Tails can fly and carry a partner, and Knuckles glides and climbs, meaning the same level can play very differently depending on the chosen character. Each zone contains two acts, boss encounters, hidden giant rings leading to special stages, Chaos Emeralds, and plenty of alternate routes for repeat runs.
