Styx: Blades of Greed

A foul-mouthed goblin thief takes center stage in a fantasy world edging toward open war, where elves, humans, and orcs all have reasons to kill one another. Styx is no longer merely doing another master’s bidding: he commands his own crew from a zeppelin and pursues Quartz, a dangerous resource with the potential to reshape the conflict. The mood stays darkly comic, driven by the goblin’s vicious sarcasm and a setting full of political opportunists, ancient ruins, and Inquisition traps.

Each mission revolves around studying patrol routes, locating alternate paths, and deciding how much chaos to cause before taking the prize. Styx sneaks through large vertical spaces using claws for climbing, a grappling tool for distant ledges, and a glider that turns rooftops and high walkways into viable escape routes. Returning staples such as invisibility and clone creation support classic stealth tactics, while Quartz abilities add more disruptive options, including controlling enemies’ minds and manipulating time. Crafting weapons and potions lets players tailor an approach, whether that means quietly bypassing guards, setting up distractions, or drawing a dagger when an ambush goes wrong.

Three major regions give the adventure a stronger sense of scale than a sequence of isolated stealth arenas: the human-built Wall, the colorful orc settlement of Turquoise Dawn, and the damaged elven city of Akenash. Tools steadily open routes that were previously unreachable, giving the campaign a light Metroidvania structure and rewarding players who revisit areas to search for secrets. Its mix of vertical level design, supernatural trickery, and goblin-sized vulnerability distinguishes it from power-fantasy action games; Styx wins through planning rather than brute force.
