Undead Development (VR)

A barricade held together with scavenged chair legs, loose boards, and a few desperate nails is the heart of Undead Development, a VR survival action game built around improvised defense. Rather than placing pre-made fortifications, you turn abandoned buildings into temporary strongholds while undead attackers close in from every available opening. Its tone is tense but playfully experimental, encouraging the kind of ridiculous invention that only virtual reality can make feel satisfyingly physical.

Each run begins with a search for weapons, ammunition, tools, and useful junk across open-ended maps with randomized loot placements. After choosing a base, you use a hammer to dismantle furniture, carry the pieces into position, and physically nail them over doors or windows before the next horde arrives. The flexible attachment system goes far beyond boarding up entryways: weapons and traps can be combined into improvised contraptions, letting players bolt an axe onto a firearm or turn an ordinary bat into something much nastier. Surviving waves creates short recovery periods for repairs and fresh scavenging, while progression unlocks more than 70 loot items, including over 30 distinct guns and melee weapons.

Undead Development stands apart from more straightforward VR zombie shooters by making construction as important as shooting. Eight maps, several possible bases on most of them, randomized supplies, and unlockable night variants give repeat sessions a different rhythm, while the home base and practice range provide a place to test gear without immediate pressure. The tactile nailing mechanic is the real draw, rewarding curious players who want to experiment rather than follow a fixed crafting recipe. Fans of sandbox survival games and physics-driven VR titles should find plenty to enjoy, especially if they like defending a home-made fortress against increasingly chaotic undead assaults.
