Showa-era Tokyo becomes the stage for a strange, emotionally charged collision of superhero television, kaiju panic, and adult romance. UuultraC frames its 1970 setting through the heightened language of tokusatsu: masked champions, towering monsters, wrestling-ring theatrics, and giant machines all sit beside a society that treats kaiju transformation as a contagious condition. At the center is Shoutarou, who shares a home with his boyfriend Kozuka until an encounter with monster blood throws his ordinary life into crisis. The mood swings deliberately between absurd slapstick and serious social unease, giving the story a surreal but human core.

As a traditional visual novel, the experience focuses on reading, character interaction, and unfolding dramatic scenes rather than reflex-based combat. Players follow three central perspectives as personal relationships, public fear, activism, and superhero spectacle increasingly overlap. The same creator behind Hashihime of Old Book Town brings a similarly distinctive interest in period detail, unconventional storytelling, and relationships under pressure, though the tone here is much more colorful and monster-driven. Its mix of campy super-sentai energy, pro-wrestling melodrama, and heavier political themes is far less conventional than most romance visual novels. Fans of tokusatsu, mature BL fiction, and stylized Japanese visual novels will find plenty to engage with, while players wanting action-heavy kaiju battles should expect a narrative-first experience instead.
