As each Blood Moon approaches, zombies become more numerous and more destructive, forcing you to test your construction under pressure; solo play works well, but online co-op makes scavenging runs and fortress projects far more entertaining.

Its fully destructible voxel world is the feature that keeps the experience distinct from more guided zombie games. A safehouse is never merely decoration, because enemies can tear through weak walls, collapse supports, and exploit careless designs, turning building knowledge into a survival skill.
