Full Metal Furies blends side-scrolling brawler action with RPG progression, but its real identity comes from requiring players to cover one another’s weaknesses rather than simply piling damage onto enemies. The mood is colorful and funny on the surface, yet the fights demand sharp reactions, positioning, and communication when armored monsters, missile-spamming foes, and bosses start filling the screen. It comes from Cellar Door Games, the studio behind Rogue Legacy, and carries that team’s talent for making demanding combat feel immediately readable.

Players choose from a roster built around distinct jobs: the Knight blocks and protects, the Sniper attacks from range, the Engineer deploys gadgets, and the Sentinel brings mobility and magical firepower. Enemies often have colored defenses or special traits that only certain attacks can break, so a successful party calls targets, strips shields, interrupts threats, and follows up with coordinated attacks for huge damage. Campaign stages mix combat arenas, platforming, secrets, puzzle-like encounters, and boss battles, while earned upgrades expand each character’s tools and allow builds that lean toward survival, crowd control, or raw offense. Up to four people can play locally or online, while solo players control two characters at once and swap between them instantly, preserving much of the teamwork-oriented design without needing a full squad.

Its strongest feature is how seriously it takes cooperation: every class remains useful, and careless button-mashing quickly gives way to tactical play. The hand-drawn visuals, playful dialogue, hidden challenges, and escalating difficulty keep the adventure from feeling like a standard arcade beat ’em up.
