A rookie officer’s first night shift turns into a claustrophobic descent through a silent country house after an emergency call ends in panic and dead air. Hazing – Night Shift is a compact psychological horror experience built around the unnerving idea of responding to a scene where something has already gone terribly wrong. Its VHS-found-footage presentation gives every room a degraded, unstable look, while darkness and carefully placed sound make the house feel hostile long before anything openly threatens you. The mood is bleak, oppressive, and deliberately grounded rather than campy.

You play through Stanley’s perspective, searching the property for evidence of who placed the call and what happened after the line went quiet. Progress comes from inspecting rooms, interacting with ordinary objects, piecing together environmental clues, and solving small puzzles that open the way deeper into the house. There is no combat-driven power fantasy here; vulnerability is the point, and the tension comes from moving forward despite not knowing what waits beyond the next doorway. The game aims for roughly a half-hour playthrough, making it well suited to a single late-night sitting, though its reliance on atmosphere means headphones are strongly recommended.

What stands out is its preference for dread over constant loud shock tactics. The grainy visual filter, realistic domestic setting, and restrained pacing create something closer to a recovered police recording than a traditional haunted-house attraction. Its scares work best when players pay attention to audio cues and the unsettling details tucked into the environment, rather than expecting elaborate mechanics or a long campaign.
