Rather than merely unlocking a door with a new item, you often need to identify which inhabitant has the trait required to bypass it. The chunky pixel art, limited-color presentation, and compact screen-scale design recall handheld adventures, while the crypt’s traps and nonlinear layout provide a more demanding edge than many nostalgic throwbacks.
