A black-site assault turns into a desperate fight through one of the SCP Foundation’s worst containment failures. SCP: 5K is a tactical first-person horror shooter built around the grim SCP-5000 premise: the organization meant to protect humanity has decided humanity must be erased. As part of an international fireteam raiding Area 12, players enter expecting armed resistance and leave facing escaped anomalies, infected personnel, and horrors that make standard military tactics feel dangerously inadequate. The mood is oppressive and hostile, balancing methodical room-clearing with sudden panic when something inhuman is loose nearby.

Missions follow a semi-linear campaign structure, leading the squad through laboratories, security wings, maintenance corridors, and breach-ravaged interiors while objectives push the story forward. Tactical fundamentals matter: players lean around corners, coordinate breaches, check sightlines, manage ammunition, and choose how aggressively to handle threats. Firearms offer substantial customization, allowing weapons to be tuned for close-quarters clearing, controlled mid-range fire, or heavier support roles. Cooperative play is central to the experience, as teammates can cover doors, revive fallen allies, share information, and provide the extra firepower needed when a firefight turns into a monster encounter. Strong positional audio, including sound muffled by walls, makes listening for gunfire, movement, and creature activity an important survival skill.

Rather than treating SCP lore as a backdrop for a wave shooter, SCP: 5K frames its anomalies within a military operation gone catastrophically wrong. Its grounded weapon handling and deliberate pacing give it more in common with Ready or Not and tactical co-op shooters than the run-and-gun chaos of many horror FPS games, while the facility setting supplies the unpredictable supernatural threat those games lack. The current story content is relatively compact, making it best approached as an evolving tactical horror project rather than a huge finished campaign. Fans of SCP fiction, co-op squad coordination, and tense PvE firefights should find plenty to like, especially if they enjoy communicating under pressure rather than charging in alone.
