EBOLA VILLAGE follows Maria after a television broadcast warns of a spreading threat, pushing her to travel to the village where her mother and former husband live. What begins as a personal visit quickly turns into an investigation of infection, violence, and buried secrets. The tone leans heavily into old-school survival horror: oppressive, deliberately paced, and more interested in making every hallway and locked door feel dangerous than in nonstop action.

Maria searches interconnected locations, examines useful objects, reads clues, solves environmental puzzles, and manages limited resources while piecing together the story. Combat takes place from a first-person perspective and offers several weapons, but ammunition and healing items are valuable enough that blindly shooting every enemy is rarely the smart answer. Enemies react with weighty physics and can suffer localized damage and dismemberment, giving confrontations a nasty, physical edge; boss encounters further break up the slower investigation sections. Healing uses Russian herbs, while separate storage chests and a traditional inventory system encourage the familiar survival-horror ritual of deciding what to carry, save, combine, or leave behind. Three difficulty settings let players tune the pressure, whether they want to focus on the mystery or endure a harsher resource-management challenge.

Its strongest feature is the setting: Soviet-era rural life gives the genre’s abandoned-house formula a distinct cultural texture, from domestic interiors to the objects scattered throughout the village. Interactable scenery, detailed sound design, and the game’s connection to a companion short film help sell the sense that Maria is uncovering a specific local tragedy rather than wandering through a generic zombie outbreak. Puzzle design deliberately recalls 1990s horror games, so expect keys, codes, item combinations, and backtracking rather than modern open-world freedom. Fans of early Resident Evil-style tension, especially players who enjoy first-person horror such as Resident Evil 7, find the most to like here, while newcomers should be ready for deliberate pacing and inventory friction.
