A relentless frozen exomoon turns a moving train into humanity’s final safe haven, and keeping it rolling is the entire point of EverRail. The central twist is brutal and effective—when a survivor dies, another passenger takes over, so the expedition continues until nobody remains aboard. Players leave the train to search procedurally assembled regions for stranded people, valuable materials, and the rare isotopes needed to improve their chances. Movement is a resource in itself, since the train replenishes its battery while travelling but consumes power when stationary, forcing careful decisions about how long to scavenge, fight, or repair. Crafting covers practical survival gear including weapons, protective equipment, tools, gliders, and industrial machines, while scan drones help survey threats and points of interest before a landing party commits. Up to four players can cooperate on expeditions, maintenance, hauling, and defense, although the shared responsibility also means poor coordination can leave everyone stranded.

EverRail stands out by making the train more than a base; it is a growing, vulnerable organism and the campaign’s real lifeline. Hundreds of attachable wagons let players build a sprawling mobile settlement with dedicated storage, production, and logistical functions, creating a satisfying contrast between risky field runs and long-term engineering. Randomized routes and locations give each attempt a different rhythm, while the rotating-survivor structure softens failure without removing its consequences.
