Arcade-style dungeon runs turn into chaotic survival battles as anime-inspired heroes carve through swarms of monsters, elite foes, and oversized bosses. Dungeon Brawls blends the constant movement and enemy-clearing pressure of Vampire Survivors with more deliberate, ability-driven combat that asks players to aim attacks, manage positioning, and react to dangerous encounters. Its tone is colorful and energetic rather than grim, but the screen-filling battles can become intense fast when a run starts stacking enemy modifiers and boss mechanics. Solo play works well, though the central appeal lies in forming a four-player party and watching complementary builds snowball into controlled mayhem.

Each run begins with a chosen hero and develops through randomized skill selections, equipment, relic drops, and artifacts. More than 50 skills support physical, magical, status-effect, defensive, summoning, and transformation-focused approaches, allowing players to shape a specialist rather than simply chase generic damage upgrades. Relics add another layer of unpredictability, with dozens of possible drops encouraging players to adapt to what appears instead of forcing the same build every time. Combat has a more hands-on rhythm than many auto-attacking roguelites, borrowing some of the targeted skill use and timing associated with MOBAs while retaining the satisfying “mow down the horde” structure.

The artifact alignment system gives runs a meaningful strategic fork: Light, Darkness, and Balance each alter how powers function and can push an otherwise familiar loadout in a different direction. Newer ruin areas and bosses, including a Titan, Bomb Demon, armored undead opponent, and a trio-based encounter, break up the wave-clearing with fights built around distinct patterns. Visual variety comes primarily from its roster of ten stylized characters and the fireworks of overlapping abilities, while co-op creates room for tankier frontliners, ranged damage dealers, and summon-heavy support setups. Players who enjoy Hades-style build experimentation, Vampire Survivors-scale crowds, and accessible online co-op should find plenty to like, especially if they prefer active combat over passive survival-game movement.
